Museu Eférmero = The world's first Ephemeral Museum !

Check out "Museu Eférmero", the world's first Ephemeral Museum based in Lisbon. It's a street art based Muesum with artworks in their natural environment: The Streets. To make a visit, you just need to go to the website of Museu Eférmero, print the map and download the podcast. Then just take your MP3-player and start your tour and explore the streetart of Lisbon. And believe me, Lisbon is full of stencils and other street art ! You will get to know the artists that leave their works out in the street and surely see them then with different eyes ! Have fun !!!

Stencils from fragil

Here are some stencils I have seen of fragil in Lisbon. I think he actually lives in Barcelona. The other day I came across a big stencil of him in Barcelona, a figure of a tall man with a camera instead of a head, really good. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me..... Well, I will have to pass there again and take it.
PS: He will also be at the Difusor !

Thank you !

I would like to thank the unknown stencil artist of the stencil of the world in an eye. I allowed myself to use it as my new logo because I think it fits perfectly to the title of my blog "world of stencils". Everywhere I go, I take my small camera with me in the hope of taking a shot of a good stencil that I can later post on my blog. If anyone knows who is the creater of this stencil, please let me know ! Thanx, Maya

Tagus boat by DEVIR

Here is another work by DEVIR, a 4-layer stencil of a Tagus boat that I found close to the stencil of Che Guevara, which is also done by him . You can see next to the boat the John Cleese stencil as well as the letters "FIXAÇÃO PROIBIDA" which is also the name of his blog. And of course the horse which is his logo and be used often as his signature. You can often find it next to his works. See also the single stencil of the horse.

Belly dancer from DEVIR

According to a comment I received for the post "famous faces", this stencil of a belly dancer could be a work of the portuguese artist DEVIR. I found it in Lisbon in a rather hidden spot, I think it was in a parking slot. Check out more about him on his blog http://fixacaoproibida.blogspot.com, he is a portuguese street artist and on his blog you can find works done by him as well as by many other artists.

Lisbon Part III

I still have so many good stencils from Lisbon, so you can be sure to see some more of it soon ! Here some more that I all found in the same spot. I suppose it is the same artist since the style is the same. I suppose the writing that you can see on of them is the signature of the artist but I checked in the internet and could not find anything. It could also be that I didn't really figure out what it says..... "Bime" or something like that ? Any suggestions, my (portuguese) friends ???
........ => thanks to the comment from andrezero, I know now who the artist is ! It is EIME, check out more of his works on http://www.fotolog.com/eime and on http://flickr.com/photos/eime/ . Thanks again andrezero !

R2-D2 stencil by Skran

This is an answer to the comments of the previous post. The robot in the photo with the dog is indeed from DOLK but here is a photo from the portuguese stencils artist SKRAN, taken in the Bairro Alto in Lisbon this summer. Here is a link to his photo blog http://www.fotolog.com/skran.

Lisbon Part I

I have just been in Lisbon (Portugal) where I had a great time. It is a wonderful city and I would have liked to spend more time there. Since I started my blog, I have actually never found as many stencils as here ! Mostly in the so-called „Bairro Alto“ where the walls are full of graffiti and where you find stencils at each corner. Since I took so many photos, I will post them in several parts.
