DIFUSOR - International Stencil Meeting in Barcelona has started !

DIFUSOR - The international stencil meeting in Barcelona with more almost 100 stencil artists (89 registered artists) has officially started yesterday, 29th June 2007. There were several events before in the week such as an opening of the exhibition of street art photos and an exhibition of some stencil cuttings to show how stencils are being done in a youth centre in Bocanord.
Today, the artists will be split into several groups and spray on big walls around Barcelona. So be sure there will be loads of photos to come soon! Apart from the photos, I am also busy with interviewing some artists. So, more to come soon !

Stencils from fragil

Here are some stencils I have seen of fragil in Lisbon. I think he actually lives in Barcelona. The other day I came across a big stencil of him in Barcelona, a figure of a tall man with a camera instead of a head, really good. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me..... Well, I will have to pass there again and take it.
PS: He will also be at the Difusor !

fremantle in Lisbon

Now on my trip to Lisbon, in the Bairro Alto and other parts, I came accross some stencils from fremantle. I think he is an artist from Paris. His website is currently under construction but you can find more fotos e.g. on Flickr. He will also be taking part in the Difusor !

The artists are: Coolture, borbo, Olivia and Mr. Case.

Sorry, it has been a while since the last post. I have been a bit busy but now I am back with loads of stencils from Portugal! From Porto and Lisbon. Since there are so many, I will have to split them in several posts. Here are the first ones. They are from someone or a group called WIP – Work in Progress and I only saw them in Porto. The plate of the stencil avenue was in Travessa de Cedofeita – there were several stencils on the walls. Does anybody know more about WIP ? Comments welcome!
